How to Help and Get Involved

The easiest way to get involved at Dojo Comedy is to see a show or take a class. Here are some of the other ways to help or get involved:

Make a Donation

We would never solicit you directly for money online, but if you feel like donating to support Dojo, you can donate via PayPal using the button to the right.

Teachers and Teaching Assistants (TAs)

Interested in teaching at Dojo Comedy? Dojo Comedy teachers are sourced from our pool of TAs. You must TA a Dojo Comedy class at least twice before becoming a co-teacher or solo teacher. To TA, you must be a student who has completed at least two Dojo Comedy classes. Email classes@dojocomedy.com if interested in becoming a TA. Prior comedy teaching experience may substitute for TAing or class-taking experience.

Show Volunteers

Dojo Comedy is always looking for wonderful souls to work box office, run tech, and usher patrons to their seats. Dojo Comedy volunteers earn hours that can be redeemed for free classes at very competitive rates. To sign up to be a show volunteer, fill out form here.

Admin Volunteers

Have something else you think you could do for the company? A passion for spreadsheets, emails, or website maintenance? Email info@dojocomedy.com and we'll find a way to get you involved. Admin volunteers are compensated via hours that can be redeemed for free classes at very competitive rates.

Performers

Dojo Comedy's performers are a combination of in-house talent (house teams) and independent submissions. We do not rent the space for outside performances, although if you have show idea that you thinks fits our mission, we want to work with you to make it happen!

If you have an independent improv, sketch, or alternative comedy act/show you're interested in putting up at Dojo, fill out the form here.

Students who have completed the improv (L1-L4) and/or sketch (S1-S3) classes program are eligible to try out for Dojo Comedy house teams.

Internships

Interns at Dojo Comedy gain valuable experience in arts administration with hands-on work towards making our classes, shows, and other programming happen. Flexible scheduling available. If interested, email a cover letter and resume to info@dojocomedy.com.
